The Shuddha Gali Project was an initiative by Anti Pollution Drive, a partner NGO, conceived as a means to start a constructive conversation with the state pollution control board about air quality assessment.
As part of a preliminary study investigating the nature of air pollution in the coastal city of Mangaluru, also situated close to an industrial hub, Sensing Local was involved in aiding analysis and visualization of the air quality data to understand the variation in air quality across 12 points in the city and reasons behind the same. The project was imagined to influence how government-led air quality assessment must be conducted and pointing out areas where residents were highly vulnerable due to rising air pollution.
