APPI conceived an initiative called the Clean Air Platform, Bengaluru (CAP-B), whose aim was to tackle the issue of Air Pollution in Bengaluru over a period of 5 years. The brief for this project was to conceive an operations framework and a grant-making strategy for this entity that would need to tackle air pollution, through a collaborative approach, harnessing the already existing knowledge pool both locally and globally.

The operational framework document created, lays down the basis of this organisation, its governance and management, along with well-defined roles and responsibilities of all members associated with the organisation. The various elements clarified under this framework are the governance roles of the board, committees and management, the appropriate relationship between governance, risk management and organisational culture.

The grant making strategy established the approach, process and the detailed application formats. This included the process for preparing of proposals, call for applications, selection procedure, identification and classification of types of grantees, and the impact assessment framework.
