Mapping Emission Footprint, Earth Day Event
Updated: Jul 9, 2021
Making contribution and exposure to air pollution visible to aid behavior change
Location: Panaa School
Partner/Collaborators: Anti Pollution Drive Foundation (APDF)
Duration: April 2016
Status: Completed
An interactive mapping game devised to build awareness among children about their impact on air pollution and from it, while travelling from home to school. The exercise created a competition between different schools to test how much was each one’s footprint. The map generated many conversations amongst students about how they travelled, the traffic police as well as the head of the host school. Incidentally, though the school was situated in the city's outskirts to provide a cleaner environment, its location has also meant that the students travel to some of the longest distances from home in the city.
